National Bank of Commerce Opens in Lee County

Opelika, AL – National Bank of Commerce, Lee County’s newest community bank hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony and open house on Wednesday, January 19 at its full service temporary office located at 3320 Skyway Drive Suite 713 in Opelika. Opelika Mayor Gary Fuller presided over the ribbon cutting along with approximately 50 other business leaders, members of the Opelika and Auburn Chambers of Commerce and friends of the bank.

The name National Bank of Commerce may be new to Lee County, but the bankers involved are certainly not new to the market. Market President, Eric Canada, Sr. Vice President, Wanda McCaghren, Vice President Tommy Cummings, Teller Supervisor, Virginia Findley and Financial Service Representatives Jackie Henderson and Paula Kennedy each have over 25 years of banking experience in Lee County.

“We are thrilled to have assembled an outstanding group of experienced bankers. Our goal is to have a strong commitment to community banking through community involvement, providing exemplary customer service and delivering exceptional products and service with a personal touch,” said Market President Eric Canada. “Even though National Bank of Commerce is a brand new name to our neighbors here, the former company was the lead bank of Birmingham-based Alabama National Bancorp, and another more familiar subsidiary First American Bank which had four locations in Lee County. In addition to the location in Opelika, National Bank of Commerce has locations in Birmingham, Huntsville and Baldwin County. All locations are full service with a complete array of personal and commercial banking options including free ATM usage at any ATM location in the world.”
