St. Peter’s Hospital Selects SeeMyRadiology.com for Multi-Modality Image Sharing and Cardiology Viewing

Atlanta, GA – St. Peter’s Hospital in Helena, MT, has selected SeeMyRadiology.com for the immediate, cost-effective sharing of images with patients and physicians beyond the enterprise as well as for the viewing and management of cardiac images.
“It isn’t unusual for patients to travel several hours to receive the level of care provided in our hospital and our department.  In Montana, the term remote imaging has a whole new meaning,” comments Luana Knable, Manager of Radiology for St. Peter’s Hospital.
“SeeMyRadiology.com’s unique cloud-based image sharing platform will enable us to cost-effectively transmit images wherever they need to go on-the-fly.  It will provide a major benefit to patient care,” she says.  To utilize the solution, physicians and staff at St. Peter’s will upload images directly from their PACS to the hospital’s SeeMyRadiology.com account.  Then, St. Peter’s staff can easily grant any authorized user, anywhere, access to these files.  The solution requires no software download at the recipient’s site and offers a familiar and easy-to-use social networking-like interface with a full range of communications options for image viewing and collaboration.  It provides advanced security and permissions to ensure full HIPAA-compliance for all image sharing.
At the same time, Knable notes that SeeMyRadiology.com provides complete cloud-based PACS and image sharing functionality for a full range of modalities.  The site will use the solution’s sophisticated cardiology and full motion review features internally for the reading and archiving of cardiac and cath lab files as well as to share these images and associated reports externally as needed.  “SeeMyRadiology.com is an excellent fit for the hospital on multiple levels,” she notes.
A state-of-the-art multi-modality imaging site, St. Peter’s offers exams ranging from MRI, multi-slice CT and PET to full-field digital mammography (FFDM) and digital x-ray.  Previously, with its existing PACS, some files were managed and communicated digitally to key facilities beyond the enterprise through a dedicated VPN connection.  Even with this connection many other facilities were sending images on CDs using express mail.  The process is not only inefficient but also expensive and not as secure as sharing images through SeeMyRadiology.com.  Mailing services alone typically cost more than $12,000 annually and require many staff hours to burn CDs and manage the communications process.
“In addition to this, setting up VPNs and managing the intricacies of sending images through the PACS also requires significant effort,” comments Knable. “With SeeMyRadiology.com, all image files will be uploaded to the cloud as needed and transmitted with the click of a mouse.”
Access to these images can then be offered to any affiliated or non-affiliated medical site, including to referring physicians at private clinics or smaller hospitals, as well as to medical specialists for consultation and larger hospitals for patient transfers.
St. Peter’s will also use SeeMyRadiology.com to provide easy, cost-effective online image access for patients.  As part of an automated process, all images will be automatically purged from the SeeMyRadiology.com cloud after 45-days, minimizing management of security and HIPAA issues.
“SeeMyRadiology.com is pleased and proud to partner with St. Peter’s by providing the most advanced imaging technology to help the hospital further its mission of delivering comprehensive medical care, “comments Arman Sharafshahi president of Accelarad, the creators of SeeMyRadiology.com.   “The hospital serves a vast geographic area, and our solution will provide a vital tool to help physicians deliver the highest level of care.”
When it comes to image sharing, hospitals in the Big Sky State need a really big cloud – and SeeMyRadiology.com meets that need!
